Guidelines for Manuscript Formatting

  • The submitted manuscript must be an original work. To ensure objectivity and quality, all manuscripts are subject to review closed peer review process before being accepted for publication.
  • The manuscript must be written in English., using MS Word software, Times New Roman font, font size 12 and line spacing 1.5. Manuscript length should not be too long 10,000 words (including tables, figures, notes, references and appendices).
  • The manuscript should be submitted in two separate files:
    • Cover page contains complete information about the author, including: affiliation; address and contact details; exact length of the manuscript; brief biography (2–3 lines) and acknowledgments (if any).
    • Draft does not contain any identifying information or the author's name.
  • The manuscript must begin with an abstract. italicized and indented, approximately 100–200 words in length, describing the article's main arguments and conclusions, along with a list of 5–6 keywords arranged in alphabetical order.
  • The manuscript title must be bolded and centered. Headings must be bold, left-aligned, and numbered using Arabic numerals. Level-one headings (e.g., 2.1) must be italicized and bold; level-two headings (e.g., 2.1.1) must be italicized and not bold. All pages must be numbered consecutively.
  • Tables and figures must be numbered separately and consecutively using Arabic numerals. Each table and figure must have a descriptive title. Images must be of high quality, with good resolution and high sharpness.
  • References: In-text citations must follow the Harvard system (short-form citation)—for example, Dunning (2000, p. 2) or Smith (2005a, 2005b). The use of endnotes should be minimized; if used, they must be marked with superscript numbers in the text and placed at the end of the manuscript. The reference list, which includes all cited works arranged in alphabetical order, must be placed after the endnotes.

    For example:
    Daly, J (2004), Theory A, Elsevier, Sydney;
    Edwards, H (2003), ‘Export orientation in Southeast Asia’, Journal of Asian Economics, 42(6), 68-72.
  • Manuscripts that do not comply with the above guidelines may be returned to the authors for necessary revisions prior to publication.
  • Copyright: One of the conditions for publication is that the author must agree to transfer the copyright of the manuscript (including the abstract) to the National Economics University. This transfer aims to ensure the widest possible dissemination of information, including—but not limited to—print and electronic formats. Authors must disclose any funding or financial affiliations that could give rise to a conflict of interest.
