Overview of the presentation at the Conference

“AI-Enhanced Higher Education: Implications for Vietnam’s Universities”

This presentation analyzes how artificial intelligence is reshaping teaching, learning, assessment, research, and administration in higher education. It examines the opportunities AI offers for personalizing learning, enhancing student support, developing digital learning materials, assisting faculty, and strengthening data-driven decision-making capabilities. Simultaneously, the presentation addresses critical challenges facing Vietnamese universities—including quality assurance, academic integrity, data security and governance, faculty digital literacy, disparities in technology access, and the alignment of curricula with a labor market impacted by automation. Drawing on international experience and the Vietnamese context, the presentation proposes a learner-centered approach in which AI is deployed as a tool to augment the capabilities of both faculty and learners—rather than replacing the educational role—thereby upholding academic standards, fostering responsible innovation, and enhancing the long-term value of higher education.
